Liza’s Waterfall

Written as a documentary-thriller-biography, Pavel Basinsky’s book (original title: Посмотрите на меня) tells the story of Liza Dyakonova, a young law student, who vanished in the mountains of Tyrol in 1902. A month later, her naked body was found in the plunge pool of a waterfall, with her clothes in a neat pile beside it. Basinisky uses Liza’s own diary and other archive material to try to unravel her story and the mystery of her death.
